MELLACE FAMILY BRANDS LAUNCHES SNACKTRITION

New natural snack line adds fiber, calcium to nuts and dried fruits for a simple, nutrient-rich cure for the common snack

 

ANAHEIM, Calif. (March 14, 2008) – Mellace Family Brands, a snack food innovator known for a diverse product line that includes tree nuts, peanuts, snack mixes, and enrobed chocolate items, today announced the launch of Snacktrition, a new line of great-tasting nut and dried fruit snacks that are oven roasted through a proprietary process that adds valuable nutrients that adults and kids need as part of a balanced diet.  The natural, healthy snacks offer a terrific way to satisfy hunger while also providing some of the critical vitamins and nutrients a body needs.

The inaugural line of Snacktrition products features five yummy offerings, including Sea Salt Cashews with Fiber, Sea Salt Almonds with Calcium, Salt & Pepper Cashews with Fiber, Smoked Almonds with Calcium and Fruit & Nut Mix with Fiber and Calcium.   Each item of Snacktrition is unique in the nutrients that it delivers.  Depending on the item, you will find three grams of dietary fiber or more than 100 milligrams of calcium, which translates to approximately 12 percent of the recommended daily fiber needs and approximately 10 percent of recommended daily calcium needs according to US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines.
