Snacking for Sustainable Transportation

September 19, 2008

ZuumCraft, Inc. today announced the start of ZuumQuest 2008, a trek of more than more than 600-miles, from San Francisco to San Diego, on the Zuumer to promote “clean tech” vehicles and the environmental benefits of “green” personal transportation.

ZuumQuest 2008 (www.ZuumCraft.com/quest) will travel through beach communities building excitement about environmentally sensitive personal transportation. TeamZuumer will meet with local personalities and notable companies who promote sustainable transportation, such as Tesla Motors, Google, engineering groups at Cal Poly, and the Mayor of Santa Barbara.

Journey sponsors include Mountain Valley Spring Water, America’s premium bottled water, and environmentally sensitive Snacktrition®, creators of nutritionally enhanced health baked nuts and dried fruit mix. “We’re excited to support ZuumQuest ‘08 because we share the philosophy of a positive, clean environment mixed with innovation and fun,” said Mike Mellace, CEO of Snacktrition®.

“We are excited about ZuumQuest 2008’s environmental mission. There are over 900 million car trips each day in the US, half of which are less than five miles.  Using alternative electric vehicle transportation for many of these trips could reduce carbon emissions by millions of pounds per year and slow the rise in global warming,” said ZuumCraft CEO William Lofft.  He added, “ZuumQuest 2008 will be an exciting, fun event. If you see us on our journey, individuals with clean tech personal transportation vehicles are invited to join our trek to advocate electric vehicle use.  You can follow ZuumQuest on the website.”
